Description
NEW YORK - NOVEMBER 4: Rock musician, singer songwriter, and record producer Dan Hartman (Daniel Earl Hartman - December 8, 1950 - March 22, 1994) poses for a portrait modeling a unqiue sartorial design by Hartman and Los Angeles Couturier Bill Witten called 'The Sound Suit', combining a body suit single apparel with an electric bass guitar fitted into its pelvic pocket, on November 4, 1974 in New York City, New York. Dan Hartman is best known for writing and performing two 1980s Billboard chart-topping hits, 'I Can Dream About You' and 'Instant Replay', as well as writing the 1970s megahit 'Free Ride' for The Edgar Winter Group, of which he was a member for a number of years. In 1986 Hartman co-wrote and co-produced the funk jam 'Living in America' with James Brown, one of the funk superstar's biggest hits. Dan Hartman produced records for some of the biggest rock acts of the 1970s and 80s, including .38 Special. David Johansen, Neil Sedaka, Nona Hendryx, Average White Band, and Rick Derringer.
