Tanning materials supplying plants: 1) Kermes oak (Quercus coccifera, or Quercus graeca) with blossom and fruits (acorns); 2) Sicilian sumac (Rhus coriaria) with dried fruit (left) and blossom; 3) Chestnut oak (Quercus montana, or Quercus prinus) with acorn; 4) Eastern hemlock (Tsuga canadensis) with pinecone and seed; 5) Black myrobalan (Terminalia chebula) with blossom and fruits (cross section); 6) Basket willow (Salix viminalis) with female (left) and male blossom; 7) Hickory wattle (Acacia penninervis) with blossom and detail; 8) Divi-divi Tree (Caesalpinia coriaria) with blossom (right) and fruit (with cross section view, bottom); 9) Black wattle (Acacia decurrens); 10) Gum arabic tree (Vachellia nilotica, or Acacia arabica) with leaves, fruit and blossom; 11) Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis) with pine needles, pine cone, and seed.
