Description
BUFFALO TREEHOPPER (Stictocephala sp.), many Treehoppers mimic thorns. The hornlike structures are somewhat similar to the horns of a buffalo. They feed on the sap of many plants. Habitat: fields, gardens, woodlands and prairies. Range: most of the United States. Chiwaukee Prairie, Southern Wisconsin. Order Homoptera, family Membracidae.
