Description
The statue of Julius Caesar was gifted to the town of Cividale del Friuli by Benito Mussolini in 1935 and placed in front of the main Town Hall façade. It is a faithful bronze replica of a marble work preserved at the Capitol in Rome dating back to Trajan's period and whose author is unknown. The work is not protected by copyright. Caesar founded Cividale del Friuli in the first century BC by the name of Forum Iulii, from which the whole region took its name.
