Description
Bogota, Colombia - April 23, 2014:A cable car full of tourists and visitors approaches the Andean peak of Monserrate above the capital city of Bogota in Colombia, South America. Cables and a pylon can be seen in the background. The trip up to the peak is popular with visitors and tourists to the city as it offers some excellent views of the large Andean city. The church on top of the peak is also a pilgrimage destination; it draws thousands of pilgrims each month who also use the cable car. Down below, at an altitude of 8,500 feet below is the city which is part of the high Andean plateau called the Altiplano Cundiboyacense. Photo shot in the afternoon sunlight; horizontal format.
