Description
Known in Spain as La Escalinata de Teruel, this beautiful Neo-Mudejar staircase was designed by Jose Teran and built between 1920 and 1921 and connects the City Centre with the railway station.It is divided into 2 parts consisting of a straight staircase that then divides into two wings.At the centre of the staircase is the famous mural of the Lovers of Teruel (Los Amantes), the work of Aniceto Marinas.It has 140 steps that bridge a 17 metre drop. It has been declared a Place of Cultural Interest.
