Description
Lothal is one of the best archeological sites to see the urban planning in the Indus Valley Civilization.Situated at a distance of 80km from Ahmedabad, the town of Lothal derives its name from the word "Loth" which means death and Lothal means “Mound of the Dead.” It is the most extensively excavated site of Harappan culture in India and the dockyard here reveals the fact that Lothal was once one of the major ports in the region.
