Description
Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is a reconstruction of the original Elizabethan playhouse and is situated on the south bank of the River Thames in the London Borough of Southwark. It is the first building in the capital, since the Great Fire of London in 1666, to be allowed to have a thatched roof. It attracts a great many visitors every year to view it’s unique architecture or to see a Shakespeare play being performed in the open air. Designed by Theo Crosby, it opened its doors to the public in 1997.
