BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 04: An interior view of the 1902 First Class Pool at the Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports Centre on September 4, 2015 in Birmingham, England. Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports, in the grounds of Aston University, was originally built in 1860 and called Woodcock Street Baths, The baths have had three major refurbishments since 1860 and still retains it's Victorian splendour alongside modern sports facilities run by Serco on behalf of the university. The Sir Doug Ellis Woodcock Sports centre is one of the many historic pools of Britain which will come under the umbrella of the volunteer run Historic Pools of Britain organisation The new network's goals are 'protecting, restoring and operating historic pools, preserving architectural features, promotion and management of older pools and bidding for and securing grant-aid. The Historic Pools Network also wants to raise public awareness about the problems ahead for historic pools and baths and save them for future generations. Historic Pools of Britain launches today (30th September 2015) as the new national organisation representing Britain's Bathing Heritage. (Photo by Christopher Furlong/Getty Images)
