Description
17th July 1954: A member of the Scottish river police patrols the River Clyde on his launch, on a foggy day. Clydeside is famous for its shipbuilding industry which dominated the lives of families living in the area. The Clyde provides employment for most people in the surrounding towns but also provides pleasure and entertainment. Many Clydesiders enjoy sailing on the river or spend their holidays on the coast at the Clyde's mouth.
