Description
This image was taken during my flight from SFO (San Francisco, California) to PDX (Portland, Oregon). This is Mount Shasta, the next to last Southmost mountain of the Cascade Mountain range that run from Mount Baker at the border of Washington State and Vancouver B.C. in Canada. The Cascades are made up of normal mountains (such as the High Cascades), and plenty of volcanoes, with Mount St Helens being the most famous due to it's eruption in the 1980's. Mount Shasta is actually the second most active volcano in the range, behind Mount St Helens, and the cool thing about this shot is you can see evidence of one of it's eruptions.
