Description
The winds at Garrapata tonight were crazy! Seriously, the type of wind that forced me to crouch down for stability... and the type that churns up gallons of sea spray to get all over your lens and filters... I climbed around for a bit looking for some refuge, but never found a decent comp at any of the places that offered some shelter... I ended up right back here at the tip of the cliff, full on in the elements- it had the best view of the coast to the north, and I could frame up some ice plant in the foreground, which wouldn't move around in the wind... what horrible shooting conditions though- my filter was getting spotted with sea spray almost immediately after being exposed to the air, so I had to clean up and protect between shots, all the while trying to time for some good wave action... my hat almost flew away, I even had a hard time holding my filter in place... unfortunately, the very best light had already gone by the time I got it right with this shot... So, while the title is fitting of the scene itself, it's also how I felt by the time I got back to the car...
