Description
THAILAND - JANUARY 01: Young Buddhist monks, bonzes, filing by in front of a woman filling up their bowls with food, in Thailand in 1970. Each morning, the bonzes leave the pagoda and walk through the village's streets. Inhabitants give them food to gain merit, which will count for their reincarnation. All male Thailanders, from the king to the farmer and the hoodlum of Bangkok sojourn in a temple once in their life. After having their head shaved, an occasion for a village celebration, they don orange robes and are ordained monks for a few days or three months.
